A CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Christmas is originally one of the great dates of Christians. Nowadays, Christmas seems to be a chance for everyone giving each other presents and greetings. Last Christmas celebrated in my office was an opportunity to strengthen our solidarity.

The preparations for Christmas day usually start very premature. From the end of November, many houses and offices are decorated spectacularly to catch the customers’ attention. In our office, some skilled decorators are rent to decorate the outside and inside of building. They stick blue tinsel like color of Christmas tree around the edge of the large glass window enclose with black artificial pine cones and small red or white bells. At front door, the blue tinsel is also edge around, the decorators fold deftly pictures of pine tree. Inside, in the central of room is a big hand-made Christmas tree, the idea of which originally came from Germany. It is decorated with silver tinsel, glass balls of many different colors and little piece of cotton wool tied on to represent the snow found in the cold countries in winter. On the top, looking down on the tree with its myriads of tiny fairy lights is a Christmas star. Around its foot are many parcels with bright Christmas wrapping papers which my coworkers and I made to give each other in Christmas night because Christmas is the time for giving.

In Christmas night, we gather in our office. Our manager and we are pagans, so the celebration is not begun with prayers. We are going to have a party. The funny tunes of Christmas songs are loud with our laughing and smiling faces. Our party is ready, the table is set attractive. We have chicken soup, lot kinds of tropical fruit, red wine, etc. We chorus ‘Merry Christmas’ and drink to everybody's health, happiness and success. During the party, we take many photographs with cute poses.

When the party end, we change to the area of playing game named ‘dancing on paper’. Several couples dance on small papers in five minutes, who put their foot out of the paper is loser. The paper would be smaller and smaller and the last couple is the winner. Rewards are the biggest gifts we have prepared. We have waited long enough for our presents and there is the time for giving them. Next, we participate in singing with karaoke. This is the chance to show our good voice with others so we chose enthusiastically our favorite songs and sing with all our heart.

The celebration finish at 1a.m, some people go their home, others take a short rest at our office chamber to get ready for a new working day. The pleasures of Christmas celebration help our relationship closer like we are living and working under the same roof.
